1. Overview

KST Learning YT Videos History is a Chrome extension that helps users save, organize, search, and revisit selected YouTube videos, Shorts, and supported live-video links.

2. Information Handled by the Extension

When a user chooses to save or organize a video, the extension may process and locally store the following information:

• YouTube video title
• Validated YouTube video URL
• YouTube video ID
• Watched or Unwatched status
• User-created custom title
• User-created category
• User-created private notes
• Local record identifiers and timestamps needed to manage saved entries

Chrome Web Store data categories

The extension does not collect personally identifiable information, health information, financial information, authentication credentials, personal communications, or precise location information.

3. Local Data Storage

Saved-video information is stored locally in the user’s browser through Chrome’s chrome.storage.local API.

• No external user database is used.
• No saved-video list is transmitted to KST Learning.
• No private notes or categories are uploaded to an external server.
• No background browsing-history collection is performed.

4. Chrome Permissions and Their Purpose

activeTab

Used to read the title and URL of the active tab only after the user opens the extension and selects a current-video action. The extension does not continuously monitor browser tabs.

storage

Used to save and manage video titles, validated links, watched status, categories, private notes, and related local settings.

unlimitedStorage

Used to support larger locally stored video collections and user-created notes without sending that information to an external server.

clipboardWrite

Used only when the user clicks Copy Video Link. The extension writes the validated canonical YouTube video URL to the clipboard.

downloads

Used only when the user clicks Save Thumbnail. The extension requests Chrome to download the public thumbnail associated with the selected YouTube video.

5. How Information Is Used

Information handled by the extension is used only to provide its clearly described user-facing features:

• Saving selected YouTube videos
• Reopening saved videos
• Searching and filtering saved entries
• Managing custom titles, categories, and notes
• Tracking Watched or Unwatched status
• Copying a validated video link
• Saving a public video thumbnail

User information is not used for advertising, behavioral profiling, creditworthiness, lending decisions, or any purpose unrelated to the extension’s single purpose.

6. Data Sharing and Transfers

• KST Learning does not sell user data.
• KST Learning does not rent user data.
• KST Learning does not share user data with advertisers.

The extension contains no analytics SDK, advertising SDK, tracking script, remote executable code, or third-party user database.

7. Data Retention, Editing, and Deletion

Saved information remains in Chrome’s local extension storage until the user edits or deletes it, clears extension data, resets the browser profile, or uninstalls the extension.

Users can directly:

• Edit saved titles
• Edit notes and categories
• Change Watched or Unwatched status
• Delete individual saved videos

8. Security Measures

The extension follows a local-first design and uses only the permissions required for its current features.

• Manifest V3 architecture
• No remote JavaScript
• No embedded passwords, secret keys, or private credentials
• No broad website host permissions
• Validated YouTube URLs before saving or opening
• Safe text rendering for custom titles, categories, and notes
• User-initiated clipboard and download actions

No method of electronic storage or software security can be guaranteed to be completely risk-free. KST Learning applies reasonable safeguards appropriate to the extension’s local-only design.

9. Children’s Privacy

The extension is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. It does not require account registration and does not request names, email addresses, passwords, payment details, or precise location information.

10. Third-Party Websites and Services

The extension works with public YouTube pages selected by the user. YouTube and Google operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
